Transport And Storage Requirements For Neopan Sandwich/Composite Panels
The total quality processes of the panels also continue after they leave our plant, where they have been manufactured with care. The same care should be taken and the following conditions should be fulfilled, not only during the loading stage, but during the unloading at the site and during the storage times as well.
Unloading:
- Crane should be used when the panels are transported to the site area or to the roof in packages.
- When the pallets are lifted with a crane, steel or chain lashings should not definitely be used and flat textile lashings should be used instead.
- Wooden wedges or flexible materials should be placed at places where the lashings or forks of the forklifts contact the panels during handling.
- The panels should not be hold and pulled from one side only during manual unloading in order that the panel surfaces would not be damaged. The panels, which are held by hand on both sides or on both sides as well as on the middle point and lifted, should be turned on to their side and carried away in this way.
Storage:
- The panels should be stocked in a closed location that is protected from water, in a location with slight inclination and over wooden wedges that are placed over the same alignment.
- When the composite panels are to be kept for long periods of time (especially during sunny weather), they should be placed as the cemented board/coated chipboard surfaces face downwards.
- The panel packages should not be stacked on top of each other.
- The panels should definitely not be stepped on.
